Working Hands is a small, independent charity, not affiliated to any large organization. All who help do so voluntarily and without payment – the doctors and Trustees give their time and expertise for free. No funds are wasted on administration, publicity or overheads – literally every donation finds its way to supporting and enabling the work, and the provision of equipment.
This work is made possible by voluntary donations, by individuals and institutions. This support comes in various forms, from the individual who is moved to send a small personal donation, to larger institutions which provide regular crucial support – in this regard, the airline Etihad has, for some years, provided flights for the team members, otherwise our largest single expense. Many medical firms and hospitals donate consumables in the run up to each trip.
A number of businesses, clubs, and other institutions have adopted our work as that year’s charity which they have wished to support. Individuals have run marathons to raise money for us and, through the year, the team members lecture and teach to encourage not only donations but others to take up such pro bono work.
We are grateful for any donation, large or small, and on behalf of the deserving people of Nepal, our sincere thanks.
